Taylor Fine Portraiture has been in business for more than 25 years doing family portraits, pets, commercial work, and executive headshots in the southern California area. The studio was founded by Michael Taylor in the early 1980s and in 2009 taken over by his son Nathaniel Taylor. The studio bosts more than 4,000 clients with

big names such as Kodak, Warner Brothers Records, Sony, Avon Makeup, etc...

 

FULL STUDIO HISTORY

Lineage is an asset that is rarely heard about these days of quickly found fame. Nathaniel Taylor is carrying the art of creating portraiture into a second generation at

Taylor Fine Portraiture. Nathaniel has grown up in a world of portraiture, images and the love of creating. He has taken this foundation and built a brilliant fresh style which combines the beauty of craftsmanship and the freshness of a new vision. 

 

Nathaniel’s father, Michael Taylor started Taylor Fine portraiture back in the 1980's. He found world-wide fame for his imaginative location portraits. Michael's images was featured on the cover of  Kodak book "Portraiture" and on the 100th Anniversary issue cover of  The Professional Photographer magazine. Kodak called Michael "possibly the finest traditional portrait photographer in America." Michael was President of the American Society of Photographers and the Professional Photographers of America. Nathaniel Taylor has brought Taylor Fine Portraiture into a third decade of creating images. With a fantastic grasp of lighting and a strong desire to create fresh museum quality images Nathaniel has quickly created a body of work that is attracting a following in the world of fashion, music and editorial. Companies such as Eastman Kodak, Burrell, Sony, Digg and Avon have used his images. Nathaniel’s unique vision is built on an old school understanding of lighting and the great desire to create images that would hang in a museum.

 

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

NATHANIEL TAYLOR, born 1985, and currently resides in Los Angeles, Ca. His career began at the early age of 13 when he started assisting at his families portrait studio. Here he learned the art and business of photography. At 19 he shot his first cover. (The Used for the cover of Substream Music Press). Since then, things have snowballed for Nathaniel. Currently he splits his time between a booming commercial photography career boasting clients such as Warner Bros. Music, Sony Music, Avon Makeup, Digg.com and his families portrait studio Taylor Fine Portraiture,  which he now owns and operates. Nathaniel is one of the last of his kind. Trained in both film and digital photography, his style lies somewhere in the grey area between the old world of traditional portrait artists and the new world of fashion/music inspired photography.
